The CARICOM Youth Ambassadors' (SVG) Committee encourages you to get involved in a local community or youth organization and make a difference. Don't know how to start? Here are a few useful tips:
1. Consider the skills you may have to offer. For example, you may be a good teacher, poet, good at making friends or an excellent event-planner.
2. Then, list the sort of organisation you would like to be a part of. For example, working with children, older people or persons with disabilities. Or, you may be a nature-loving person - consider an environmental group.
3. Identify organisations which operate in your area or for the cause you're interested in. Check out their social media pages and contact them, letting them know that you are interested in volunteering.
4. Many voluntary activities can be positive, but sometimes, things can go wrong. If things don't work out the first time around, be prepared to try again!
